Thai Herbal Wrap:

A Thai herbal wrap is different from other wraps in that it uses mineral-rich mud found in many parts of Thailand. A herbal wrap both pampers and moisturises your skin at the same time. The herbs used are chosen for their natural properties; for instance, turmeric is a natural antioxidant. The ingredients are mixed into a paste and massaged onto your body. A plastic sheet is then used to wrap you for some 20 minutes. Alternatively, strips of cloth are soaked in a herbal solution and then used to wrap your body. It is believed that toxins and other impurities will be removed as you perspire. The Six Senses Spa at The Evason Hua Hin shares its recipe for the following Thai Herbal Wrap, guaranteed to rejuvenate even the most weary. Adjust the quantities according to your body size. If you are doing the wrap at home, you could leave the herbs on as a mask rather than a wrap for convenience.

Thai Herbal Wrap Recipe:
Ingredients: 1 oz / 20g ginger; 3oz / 80g turmeric; a handful rice; water as required.
Ground the ginger and turmeric and mix them with the rice and warm water to make a thick paste. Massage the paste over your body using circular motions. Be sure to pay special attention to the drier areas such as your knees, elbows and feet, or areas with fatty deposits such as the thighs, bottom and upper arms. Leave the paste on for 20 minutes, then rinse off (with a loofah if you prefer) and moisturise.
