Cooling And Relaxation Sequence:
The type and sequence of the cooling down are as follows:
11. The Doggie Shake: You would have noticed dogs stretch and shake themselves. Well, animals certainly know a thing or two about keeping themselves relaxed. Try shaking the same way. Stand with the feet a little less than shoulder width. Keep your weight rooted on your toes. Start off by shaking the head towards both sides – followed by shaking the shoulders, then the hips, the knees, ending at the feet. Shaking yourself this way helps in both relaxing and stimulating the body at the same manner.
Days Of Rest: If you workout on a regular basis, it is important to give your body total rest at least once a week. It can be a Sunday or any other day of the week, depending on which is convenient to you. On the days of rest make a conscious effort not to workout even if you are tempted to do so for some reason. Resting in a planned and regular manner goes a long way to recharge both, the body and the mind. Overtraining is one of the major causes of injuries amongst people who workout on a regular basis. It is also one of the reasons for people starting out on a fitness program to give up prematurely. As in most other fields, in case of working out too, more is not necessarily better. Regular days of rest ensures that the body keeps performing without burning out.
