The most appropriate make-up for office should be subtle and subdued. Make sure that office make-up should look simple and natural. You should look trendy and the make-up should reflect who you are but don’t over-do it by cramming make-up onto the face. Applying any type of make-up, irrespective of what occasion, it should be done with skill. Remember that office wear should last the whole day, so keep in mind that it does not make you uncomfortable and should not be a hindrance to your work. But that does not at all mean that make-up for office should be dull and boring. Do the make-up as such that it brings out your personality. Office make-up should be done so that you will look fresh all day long, and maybe a little touching up during the day should suffice you. Many colours that look good in the night are not suitable for day use. So be careful with colours and use earthy tones of eye shadow, mascara, warm tones of foundation, etc., that will look good for the day. Remember to do your make-up in the daylight and not indoors as you will not get the proper effect. And remember the body spray or deodorant to keep you smelling sweet all day.
Cleansing Face For The Base:
First of all wash the face properly to remove make-up residue or oil and dirt from the face. After that use a toner or astringent to clean away leftovers that the cleanser could not remove or there will be blocked pored due to the cleanser. After that, apply moisturizer, better to do so when the skin is still damp. The application of cleansing, toning and moisturizing is an important factor to keep the skin soft and smooth. If the face is clean and soft, then make-up has a better effect on the face. If you have a blemish free face, then you don’t need to apply foundation. But if you have spots and marks on the face, then cover it up by using concealer.
Blush For The Day:
Office lights are mostly in fluorescent colours. So opt for natural earth tones with golden light lights, which will make the cheeks look natural. Using pink blusher for day time is not suitable as your skin might look muddy. Women with dark skin or swarthy complexion should use tones like brown, teracotta and maroon. Darker shades hide what you want to hide, and lighter shades accentuate what you want to show. If you have a round face and want to elongate it, then apply dark blusher on the cheekbones.
Eye Make Over:
Do not use dark colours, reserve them for the nights. Use light colour eye shadow like pink, gold, peach and rose etc. If you use dark make-up and don’t apply it the correct way, then office light can make the flaws very noticeable and you will end up looking garish. Take care of these minor details and do not use dull colours like grey and blue. You can use brown mascara and eyeliner but its not taboo to use black colour. Mix both the colours if you think that it will be your eye make-up more subtle.
