5. Martial Arts Equipments:

a. Weapons: There are many weapons such as the cane, rope or chain, broadsword, and throwing knives. Many of these weapons were used for agricultural applications, such as the club, sickle and staff, as the development of martial arts was often barred from using these weapons by the government prohibition and the practice of fighting was not allowed.
b. Dojo mats: These are mats used to cover the entire floor. It gives a good grip to the legs while doing martial arts.
c. Breaking boards: Breaking boards is a martial arts skill that is used in competition, demonstration and testing. This is a martial art where the artist uses a striking surface by breaking one or several objects with the skills that they are taught. The striking object can be anything from a hand or a foot, but may also be a fingertip, toe, head, elbow, knuckle, or knee. The most common thing to break is wood but bricks and cinder blocks are also often used. Blocks of ice are also used but it is not used very often as wood.
d. Hojo Undo: This is a style of Karate that is characterized among other accomplishments for the power of its techniques. It is done by regular training and is mastered over a period of time. This is a difficult thing to accomplish but with dedication and proper training of the hojo undo, it is possible to do so.
