Face Packs And Face Masks

Face Masks:

Face Masks are stronger versions of facepacks using a powder such as flour or clay to penetrate the pores more deeply. It should be left on for 15-20 minutes. Clay, Oatmeal or chickpea flour can be added to any of the facepack recipes to make a mask that aids the cleansing process by drawing out dirt from deep in the pores. Oatflour is very soothing for eczema, while chickpea flour can leave your skin feeling very taut, so is best combined with other dry ingredients. Mix the mask to a consistency that won’t slide straight off your face – experiment on the back of your hand – and leave for upto 20 minutes before massaging and rinsing it off.

There are different kinds of masks for different purposes, some are deep cleansing for cleaning the pores. Effect can be revitalize, rejuvenating or refreshing. Choose from a wide selection of face masks available in the market to find one that is perfect for your skin:

Types Of Masks:
1.Moisturizing Masks: These are ideal for dry complexions because they boost the moisture levels of your skin. This means they can help banish dry patches, flakiness and even fine lines. They work quickly like an intensive moisturizer, and are usually left on the skin for 5-10 minutes before being removed with a tissue. The slight residue left on your skin will continue to work until you next cleanse your skin. They are a soothing treat, particularly after too much sun, or when your skin feels “tight”.

2.Cleansing Masks: Basically all face masks have some sort of a cleansing action. Various ingredients are used in the masks, depending upon the skin type and to some extent on the availability of materials. Clays such as fulller’s earth, Kaolin etc help remove dirt, sebum and dead skin so that the skin looks clean, soft and youthful. Another important ingredient is the peeling agent such as oatmeal and bran. Natural masks have natural ingredients such as yogurt, fruits and vegetable extracts, brewer’s yeast and juices and also essential oils.

3.Exfoliating Facemasks: Masks with a light exfoliating action can keep your skin in tip-top condition. Even normal skins sometimes suffer from the build-up of dead skin cells, which can create a dull look and lead to future problems such as blackheads. Masks that cleanse and exfoliate are the perfect solution. They smooth on like a clay mask, and are left to dry. When you rinse them away, their tiny abrasive particles slough away the skin’s surface debris.

4.Clay And Mud Masks: Ideal for oily skins, they absorb excess grease and impurities. They’re an ideal way to “shrink” pores, reduce shine and clear troublesome blemishes. They dry on your skin over a period of 5-15 minutes, then you simply wash them away with warm water, rinsing dead skin cells, dirt and grime away at same time. They’re a fantastic pick-me-up for skin.

5.Peel-Off Facemasks: Ideal for all skin types, the gel is smoothed on, left to dry and peeled off. The light formulation refreshes oily areas, clears clogged pores and nourishes drier skins.

6.Gel Masks: These are suitable for sensitive skins, as well as oily complexions, as they have a wonderfully soothing and cooling effect. Simply apply the gel, lie back, then wipe off excess after 5-10 minutes. Ideal after too much sun, or if your skin feels irritated.

Face Mask Tips: Your skin can change with the seasons. Skin that becomes oily in the hot summer months can become drier in winter and in central heating. So take your skin’s quirks into account when choosing your mask.
1. Cleanse your face before applying your chosen mask. Afterwards, rinse with warm water, then apply moisturizer.
2. Most masks should be left on the skin for between 3 and 10 minutes. For the best results, read the instructions carefully.
3.If you have a sensitive skin, it is always best to use homemade masks suited to your skin type.
Always use natural, herbal products rather than chemicals which do not suit your skin type.
