For most people, the main cause of dark circles is inadequate sleep. Yet there are some who are born with them. Even teenagers sport them. If eight hours of sleep and plenty of water won’t help, what will?
Cause Connection:
The origin of dark circles doesn’t lie in lack of sleep. Fatigue and tiredness make your skin appear paler, thereby highlighting all the discolorations on your skin. What really causes dark circles are a host of other factors like heredity, rubbing your eyes too often, allergies, hyper-pigmentation, vitamin deficiency, eczema and excessive loss of weight in a short span of time. The skin below our eyes is naturally thin and fragile, in some people even more so. The under eye area is a mesh of delicate capillaries and at any given moment, multitudes of red blood cells are traversing through this fine web. Sometimes, the cells like to play truant, escaping and making a detour into the surrounding skin. In response the enzymes in our body break down the (red) haemoglobin in the errant cells but leave behind the other cell components that are bluish black in color. With the gradual thinning of the fat pad here, this disparity rises to the surface and over a period of time, dark circles are born.
Combat Codes:
No matter what the cause, their arrival is simply not welcome. To get rid of dark circles you need to consider a combination of factors like appropriate treatments depending upon age and individual biology. You can counter the wear and tear of the under eye area by making certain lifestyle changes such as cutting down on caffeine, nicotine and alcohol, increasing water intake and adopting a healthy diet. These make a palpable difference though not in entirety. For those who regularly visit beauty salons, The Lymphatic Drainage Massage is recommended. However, if you are looking at quick-fix results, opt for the special algae under eye masks mixed with a toner. These need to be administered by a qualified expert in the parlor you frequent. The results last for 10 days but you could lengthen this duration if you modify your lifestyle accordingly. Alternatively, experts recommend the gold peel over glycolic peels, which contain chemicals and bleaching. These peels contain the metal which gets easily absorbed into the under eye skin and rejuvenates it.
