Homemade Face Masks For Different Skin Types:
3.Exfoliating Masks:
Many commercial facial scrubs and masks contain foods, natural botanicals and essential oils. The commercial preparations usually contain carrier creams or carrier oils and preservatives. Sometimes they contain vitamins, minerals, herbs, unrecognizable proprietary ingredients, substances from the depths of the ocean, and an assortment of ingredients.
— For Dry Skin Types:
A.Olive Oil Mask: Mix three Tbsp.s olive oil or any good oil and one Tbsp. kosher salt mix and gently rub into dry skin. Do not use around eye area.
B.Cornmeal Mask: Mix 1 Tbsp. of relatively fine-ground cornmeal and 1 1/2 Tbsp. of plain yogurt and apply on face and rinse.
C.Sugar Mask: In a small bowl, add 1 tbsp brown sugar and 1/2 lemon juice to 1 portion of your normal facial cleanser. Mix until blended. Wet your face with water. Apply scrub to your face with a gentle circular motion. Take care not to tug the skin, and avoid the eye area. Rinse with warm water followed by a quick cold-water rinse.
D.Banana Cream Mask: Add 1/2 fresh banana, 1 tablespoon honey, 2 tablespoons sour cream and to food processor, and pulse to process. Add 2 tsp sugar. Apply to cleansed face. Leave on face for approximately 10 minutes. Using a damp wash cloth, gently remove mask from face. Rinse face and pat dry with a clean towel.
E.Almond Yogurt Mask: Grind some almonds and mix with enough yogurt to form a paste. Apple on face and gently massage it in with light circular movements of your fingertips. Rinse with warm water.
F.Almond Egg Mask: Grind 1 tablespoon almonds into a fine meal in a blender or food processor. Mix almond meal together with 1 tablespoon honey and 1 egg. Apply to face and let set for about 15 minutes. Gently wipe off with a damp wash cloth.
— For Oily Skin:
A.Bran Mask: Mix 1 tea spoon of fine bran with a quarter teaspoon of dried yeast and 1 tea spoon of lemon juice along with a tablespoon of water. Gently massage the thick paste so formed into the skin, particularly on and around the nose and the chin area, using a soft brush; avoid applying around the eyes. Wash off after 1-2 minutes, using warm water.
B.Sugar And Lemon Juice Mask: Mix 1 tablespoon of olive oil with a squeeze of lemon juice and then add about 2-3 tablespoons of sugar or enough to give it a scrub like consistency. Apply evenly over face and exfoliate gently for a couple of minutes. Rinse with warm water.
C.Tomato Sugar Mask: You mix powdered sugar, a little bit of milk, and just a bit of tomato juice. Leave it on for 10 minutes and rinse it off with warm water. It left my skin so soft. To make it even better, make sure that it is cold when you apply it to your face.
D.Oatmeal Sugar Mask: Put 1 cup of sugar, 2 cups of olive oil, 1 tsp. of lemon juice, 1 cup of instant oatmeal and last but not least 1 cup of water. Mix to a paste and apply on face and rub lightly and rinse.
E.Rosemary Mask: Put half a teaspoon of dried rosemary in a bowl and mix with two teaspoons of sugar then add two table spoons of milk and then mix and wait about one minute to two minutes and it will turn to foam. Apply on face with circular motion all over and leave for three minutes and then wash off with cold water and pat with a towel till dry.
F.Oil, Lemon And Sugar Mask: Mix olive oil, 1 tsp brown sugar, 1 tsp white sugar, 1 tsp salt and lemon juice to make a paste. You may use any good vegetable oil if the olive oil smells. Apply on face and rinse.
— For Normal Skin:
A.Salt Egg Mask: Mix 3 tablespoons of olive oil or baby oil with 1 tablespoon of kosher salt and 1 beaten egg white. Spread on your face and wash off in about 25-30 minutes.
B.Aloe Vera And Oatmeal Mask: Add 2 tablespoons oatmeal, 2 tablespoons brown sugar, 2 tablespoons commercial pure aloe vera or aloe vera gel from a plant, 1 teaspoon lemon juice, to a food processor, and blend until creamy. Store in a covered jar in the refrigerator for up to three days. Wet your face with water. Apply scrub to your face with a gentle circular motion. Take care not to tug the skin, and avoid the eye area. Rinse with warm water followed by a quick cold-water rinse.
C.Flour Egg Mask: Mix 2 eggs with 2 squirts of honey and 4 pinches of flour. Make a paste and apply on face and leave for about 15 min. Rinse with warm water.
D.Honey Almond And Lemon Mask: Mix 1 tablespoon honey with 2 tablespoons finely ground almonds and ½ teaspoon lemon juice. Rub gently onto face. Rinse off with warm water.
E.Orange Mask: Place 1 cup dried orange peel 1 cup oats 1 cup almonds into a food processor and blend until the mixture is a lightly textured scrub powder. Transfer to a jar and seal tightly. To use, scoop some of the scrub into your hands and moisten with a few drops of warm water to form a spreadable paste. Rub the paste onto your face and scrub in a circular motion. Rinse with warm water.
F.Strawberry And Almond Mask: Blend 1 tablespoon almond powder, 1 Fresh strawberry, ½ tablespoon lemon juice, ½ tablespoon almond oil in a bowl and rub gently all over the facial skin. Rinse with cold water after fifteen minutes. /font>
— For Combination Skin:
A.Lemon Apple Iced Mask: Wash 1 lemon or 2 limes and 2 small to average sized apples well with 1 cup warm water. Cut them into pieces and remove seeds. Put pieces of the fruit into blender or chopper, add water and chop them into a paste. Pour paste into ice cube trays and freeze in freezer. Remove ice cubes from the ice cube trays, put them into Ziploc bags and store in freezer. Use every day. Apply ice cube on skin of your face and neck in a gentle circular motion (always circle up). Do not apply around the eyes. Use in the morning, before your moisturizer and make up, and in the evening, after your cleansing but before your night cream. Immediately after use, wipe away small pieces of the fruit from your skin with a paper towel, but do not wash. Observe effect in 3-4 days.
B.Chickpea Flour Mask: Take two spoonful of gram flour(chickpea flour) oil; add a spoonful of curd to it, a pinch of turmeric powder and a few drops of lemon oil. Make a thick paste and apply it on the face and neck. You can even apply it on all over your face and body. Scrub it off when dry.
— For Sensitive Skin:
A.Oatmeal And Honey Mask: Grind 4 tablespoons oatmeal in a food processor. Add 2 tbsp honey and 2 tbsp hot water and process until fully blended. Store in a covered jar in the refrigerator for up to three days. Apply to cleansed face. Leave on face until your face begins to feel tight. Using a damp wash cloth, gently remove mask from face. Rinse face and pat dry with a clean towel.
